In January 2014, a joint venture between Clearview Hotel Capital and a partner acquired the majority interest in the 1,408-room Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Hotel. The main tower of the Hotel was built in 1995 and contains 1,198 rooms. In 1999, an additional 210 rooms were added to the Property following a renovation of the Headhouse Building, which was originally developed as the head house passenger station for the Reading Terminal and the Reading Railroad company headquarters. The Hotel is managed by Marriott and is the only hotel in Philadelphia connected to the Philadelphia Convention Center. The Hotel features 92,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 34,300 square foot Grand Ballroom; a restaurant and lounge; an indoor salt water swimming pool; and a full-service Starbucks.
